Okay - follow me on this one. This painting was originally inspired by Genesis 9:13 "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth". But as I continued to paint and the painting was quite bright, then I added more and more layers, the painting transformed into more of a celebration as big as Mardi Gras. So, to all my friends in Baton Rouge and New Orleans who are celebrating there, Laissez les bons temps rouler!!! This textured, contemporary piece is 36" wide x 24" high and 1.5" deep. I've rotated it around in each direction and honestly it looks great horizontal or vertical. The sides are painted black and a UV-resistant satin varnish has been applied. It's a great fun piece!
